Weddings, Whiskey, & Wine Country

The planning of a wedding is a huge undertaking, no matter how large or small the event may be. From the moment she says “yes!” a bride immediately begins to daydream and “pin” all her ideas, colors, inspiration for the big day!

The preparations for the Cash wedding were no different, except for the truly unique and sentimental elements the young couple added to their special day.

From the moment the bride said “We are having our wedding at Good News Brewing Company in Defiance”, I was IN. A small wedding at a brewery in wine country sounded picture perfect and RIGHT up my alley! We discussed colors, themes, flowers, and must have shots and the flow of the day….then we just had to wait!

When the day arrived, I breathed a huge sigh of relief at the weather report! 75 and partially sunny! For anyone that knows Missouri weather- March can be a bit tricky to navigate for outdoor events! It was a gorgeous day with perfect lighting and a beautiful setting!

These are the things that stood out to me most that day…

The bride and groom were truly enamored with each other and just grinned the entire time.

They shared a toast of Lagavulin Scotch Whiskey out of beautiful tumblers instead of champagne.

The groom wore ostrich leather shoes that had the smoothest look and most amazing leather scent that followed him everywhere.

They chose earthy, muted colors and incorporated unique florals in their arrangements and tables, creating a warm, almost bohemian feel.

Their meal was artisan pizza paired with dozens of delicious craft beers!

I could go on and on about sweetness and perfection of the evening, so I’ll leave this last thought here- traditional details aren’t for everyone. Your wedding day should reflect who you and your partner are as a couple…the things that created a bond between you. If that’s white roses and tuxedos- great! BUT! If it’s handlebar mustaches, wide brim fedora hats, and scotch whisky-thats also amazing!

Its YOUR day, and every detail should be YOUR version of perfect!
